The City of Toronto will commemorate the Second World War’s V-E Day and Victory Day Monday, May 9 with a ceremony in Nathan Phillips Square.
The ceremony will take place outside City Hall at 12:30 p.m.
V-E Day, May 8, and Victory Day, May 9, commemorate the unconditional surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany in 1945, marking the end of the Second World War.
The public is invited to join Second World War veterans, elected officials, and representatives from the Allied countries during the ceremony.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Toronto City Hall Council Chambers.
